Superman 64 is the abbreviation of the Superman: The New Supername Adventures as it was released for the Nintendo 64 in the year 1999. This is the first Superman game that features 3D visuals.
The plot of the game is that Superman has to rescue his friends from the villain, Lex Luthor, who has them trapped in a virtual version of the Metropolis city. At the end of the game, after Superman rescues his friends from the virtual Metropolis, Lex somehow manages to escape leaving the game unfinished and hanging without a proper ending.
This game received lots of backlash due to its negative reception and was considered one of the worst games of all time. Though it featured 3D visuals, the game lacked in graphics and also had many technical bugs, poor controls over the character, and difficulty levels.
